Austin Chain Hotels
Chain hotels in Austin range from the luxurious to the basic. The Four Seasons Hotel offers wonderful luxury near many of Austin’s premier attractions. Children are offered welcome packages which include a cute stuffed longhorn steer; child size bathrobes are provided. Rooms and suites start at $379 per night.
Most of the chain motels/hotels in Austin, Texas have a reputation for being clean and safe, if not the Ritz. There are several Motel 6’s in the area, along with Howard Johnson, Days Inn, Red Roof and Travelodge. There are many La Quinta’s and several other chains.
Courtyard Austin North/Parmer Lane is a newer building with rooms averaging $85+ a night. The service is reported to be good, but it is close to traffic and may be a little noisy for some.
Hampton Inn & Suites in the Cedar Park/Lakeline area is reported to be an excellent value for the money. Rooms average $94+ per night.
The Westin Austin at the Domain is a fairly new hotel in the midst of the popular Domain shopping mall. Service is reported to be excellent and rooms average $141+ per night.
Unique Austin Hotels
If you are looking for lodging a bit out of the ordinary, Austin can certainly provide it. The charming Hotel San Jose on South Congress Avenue is conveniently located near many shops and interesting sights. Rooms at the San Jose average $75+ per night and the service is reported to be great.
Habitat Suites Hotel in north central Austin offers two bedroom/two bath suites with a kitchen; one bedroom is upstairs. Suites here average $101+ per night. This hotel prides itself on its environmentally friendly practices.
Barton Creek Resort and Spa offers a beautiful golf course, fabulous spa, and wonderful views of the Hill Country. Rooms start at $148 per night.
The W Austin on Lavaca Street is a fabulous modern highrise hotel. Service is reported to be excellent. Rooms start at $245 per night.
The Mansion at Judge’s Hill is a gracious older mansion. Service is reported to be good, although some guests report a few maintenance problems. Rooms start at $168 per night.
No report on Austin, Texas hotels would be complete without mentioning the historic Driskill. Opened in 1886 by cattle baron Jesse Driskill, the Driskill was the first luxury hotel in Austin. Today, the Driskill continues to serve guests with 189 gorgeous suites and two first class restaurants as well as variety of amenities, including bike rental at the hotel. The Driskill is located on the famous, fabulous 6th Street.
Hotel Saint Cecilia offers luxury bungalows and suites on a gorgeous estate. Rooms start at $355 per night.
Travaasa Austin is a luxurious resort and spa with spectacular views; the guest rooms overlook the Balcones Canyonlands. The resort offers a variety of experiences including yoga, trail riding, Texas Two Step dance classes, and much more. Double rooms start at $275 per night.
