Austin Ranks Top in Job Growth

A recent report issued by commercial real estate services company Cushman & Wakefield sites Austin as one of the top metro areas for job growth.  The period of time that the report covers is the end of the recession in 2009 through 2018.  Of the 35 metro areas included, Austin ranked number 5 with an overall score of 8.5.

From the year 2009 through 2018 Austin added 295,000 for a growth rate of 38.1 percent.  This was the largest increase of all metro areas studied.

As one of the "all-star" metro areas on the report (one of six highlighted), Austin is projected to have an upward trajectory or job growth in the future.  With the continual population increase and high rankings for quality of life, Austin is anticipating no slow downs in their employment numbers.

Some other notable recent accolades include the Wall Street Journal naming Austin the top job market in the United States, plus a study entitled Capital City gave Austin the top ranking for being a top performer in the country for jobs.
