Defending National Champion Texas Volleyball has been ranked No. 1 in the 2013 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll. The Longhorns, coming off the second NCAA Championship in program history, begin the 2013 home season at Gregory Gym with the Nike Volleyball Big Four Classic on Sept. 7-8.

The tournament, featuring No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 Stanford, and No. 9 Florida, is one of the nation's premiere college volleyball tournaments and is hosted at Gregory Gym for the first time. Texas opens play with five-time National Champion Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for National Championship festivities including photo opportunities at Championship Corner with the 2012 NCAA Championship trophy. Approximately 30 minutes after the match, Stanford takes on Florida in the second match of the day.

On Sunday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m., the Longhorns return to the court to host six-time National Champion Stanford to close out the tournament. It will be the first time the Longhorns and Cardinal have met since 2010 and the first time in Austin since the 2006 NCAA Regional Final. Penn State and Florida face off at 10 a.m.

Groups of 10 or more can also purchase tickets at a special group rate of $4 per tickets by calling 512-232-3865 or ordering online at TexasSports.com.
