US News Ranks Austin "Best Place to Live"

For the third year in a row, Austin ranks number one as the "Best Place to Live in the U.S." according to U.S. News & World Report.

The rankings are based on affordability, job prospects, and quality of life.  In addition, a public survey is conducted surveying thousands of people throughout the United States.  The survey asks what qualities they consider important in a hometown.

It is not difficult to understand why Austin would take the number one slot for three years.  From luxury neighborhoods, a fantastic job market and plenty of entertaining things to do, Austin is really a place for anyone.  Austin is also known as the "Music Capital of the World" holding events such as SXSW, Austin City Limits and is home to many local bands and venues.

Affordability is easy in Austin, with median home prices at $292,500 and median rent at $1,155.  With a 2.9% unemployment rate, the job market continue to grow as large companies and headquarters are consistently on the move to Austin.  This is largely because Austin is affordable, and the quality of life is grand, making a career in Austin ideal for those looking for a great place to settle down.
